Anjielo Wi-Fi HaLow™-TXW8301 Long-Range AH Development Board — 900 MHz

     Overview: Optimized as a Wi-Fi solution for IoT devices, the TX-AH-R900Pxx series modules—designed by Taixin Semiconductor—are industry-leading Wi-Fi modules compliant with the IEEE 802.11ah standard. The TX-AH-R900P series modules integrate the 802.11ah SoC (TXW83xx); operating within the 730 MHz to 950 MHz frequency band, this chip offers a significantly longer transmission range compared to 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz Wi-Fi at equivalent transmit power levels. The modules support channel bandwidths of 1 MHz, 2 MHz, 4 MHz, and 8 MHz, delivering physical throughput ranging from 150 Kbps to 32.5 Mbps, thereby accommodating a wide spectrum of applications—from low-data-rate sensors to multiple high-data-rate surveillance cameras. The TX-AH-R900P series modules interface with application processors via USB, SDIO, SPI, UART, and other ports, making them suitable for deployment across diverse fields such as wireless security, drone video transmission, smart homes, and smart grids. Furthermore, the TX-AH-R900P series modules feature an RMII interface, enabling a cost-effective solution for single-module wireless bridging. The modules support both AP and STA modes, facilitating one-to-many networking configurations.
The internal architecture and external connection diagrams for the chip/module are illustrated in the accompanying figure.

2. Development Board Overview
The TX-AH-MODULE development board supports SDIO interface development functionality by default. The host side features a TF card interface, allowing users to directly insert the onboard PCB-TF-CARD into the host-side card slot. By powering the development board via the Micro-USB port (5V @ 500mA), users can easily set up their development environment.
If development for other interfaces is required, users can switch to the necessary hardware development interfaces—such as USB, UART, or SPI—by soldering specific jumper resistors.

TX-AH-MODULE: Taixin AH Module:
ANTENNA: AH Module SMA Antenna Interface: DEBUG-PORT: The CDK debug port for the AH Module; please refer to the *Taixin TXW830xAH-SDK Development Guide*: Power-Input/Print-Port: The USB Micro port serves as both the power input and the print/debug output port. Ensure that the USB port is capable of supplying 500mA of current. The board features an onboard USB-to-UART chip; by connecting this USB port to a computer and setting the appropriate UART jumpers, you can output the AH Module's debug print information (Baud Rate: 115200):
5V Power Button: The 5V power switch for the development board: Power LED: 3.3V Power Indicator LED;
3.3V Power Jumper: Used for evaluating the power consumption of the AH system. Under normal operation, this jumper is shorted using a jumper cap; when testing power consumption, remove the jumper cap and insert an ammeter in series:
UART Jumper: Select different jumper configurations to switch the USB Micro print port to different UART channels, depending on the communication interface being used. To select the USB port for communication, short pins A10/A11 to the middle row of pins. To select interfaces such as SDIO or SPI for communication, short pins A12/A13 to the middle row. If you are using a dedicated UART port to communicate with an MCU while simultaneously requiring a separate UART channel for debug printing, the default configuration assigns A11/A10 for communication and A13/A12 for printing; in this scenario, the USB Micro port can only be assigned to one of these serial channels, while the other serial channel must be accessed directly via the jumper pins: USB: Used for communication with the host controller via the USB interface; refer to the *UART Jumper* instructions to configure the debug print output: AH-TF CARD: Onboard TF-Card interface, used for communication with the host controller via the SDIO interface; refer to the *UART Jumper* instructions to configure the debug print output:
SDIO: Primarily used for host controllers that do not feature a built-in TF card slot, enabling SDIO communication. For use with fly-wiring or connecting a logic analyzer for debugging purposes (resistors R3, R18, R20, R21, R23, and R25 must be populated with 22Ω resistors): SVCC (V1.6): When power is supplied by the main controller, select SVCC as the power source (move the jumper to SVCC); when power is not supplied by the main controller, simply select VCC as the power source (move the jumper to VCC).

SPI: Pins are multiplexed with SDIO pins; the corresponding mapping is: SD_CLK/SPI_CLK1, SD_CMD/SPI_MOSI1, SD_D0/SPI_MISO1, SD_D1/SPI_INTIO1, SD_D2/NC, SD_D3/CS1. If it is necessary to use COM3 via fly-wiring, OR resistors R18, R20, R21, R23, R3, and R25 must be soldered in place. Note: Please refer to the UART Jumper instructions to enable debug output. PAIRKEY: Hardware pairing functionality is supported by default, connected to IOB1 via resistor R45. DEBUGKEY: By default, the AH module loads its firmware from Flash memory. Pressing and holding this key while powering on allows the module to enter debug mode, bypassing the Flash boot process; debugging can then be performed via the DEBUG PORT, or firmware can be downloaded via the main controller. IO PORT: Several IO pins of the AH module are exposed via a 2.54mm dual-row pin header. Sleep-IO: Pins required for low-power solutions—specifically, the IO pin used by the AH module to wake up the MCU (IOB0), or the IO pin used by the MCU to wake up the AH module (MCLR).

Compared to the newer V1.6 version, there are three key differences: the Type-C port, the DEBUGKEY, and the SVCC configuration. SVCC: R28 serves as the power supply selection resistor for SVCC. When selecting the USB, UART, or SPI interface, R28 must be shorted using a 0Ω resistor; otherwise, I/O pins A6–A11 will not receive power. When selecting the SDIO interface, R28 should be left unpopulated (NC), and SVCC will be powered by the SDIO host (specifically, power is supplied via the AH-TFCARD).
DEBUGKEY: The V1.5 version of the module does not feature a DEBUGKEY.
Note: The firmware used for the SDIO interface is shared with that of the SPI interface. However, depending on whether the SDIO, USB, or UART interface is selected as the primary communication port, the development board requires different firmware builds. For the USB firmware, the designated debug UART pins are A10/A11; for all other interfaces, the debug UART pins are A12/A13. Consequently, the jumper cap configurations differ; please refer to the "UART Jumper" instructions for proper setup.
