1. Introduction

2. Categories of Data Generated

By using this Smart Video Doorbell, the following categories of data are generated:

A. Multimedia Data (User Generated)

• Video & Audio: Live streaming footage, recorded video clips, and audio captured by the device’s camera and microphone.

• Snapshots: Still images captured when the doorbell button is pressed or motion is detected.

• Local Storage Data: If a MicroSD card is inserted, video recordings are generated and stored strictly within the local card. This data is not uploaded to the cloud unless you manually download specific clips via the App.

B. Operational & Sensor Data

• Event Logs: Timestamps of specific events (e.g., "Motion Detected," "Doorbell Ring," "Device Offline").

• Device Status: Battery level, Wi-Fi signal strength (RSSI), firmware version, and IP address.

• Technical Logs: Diagnostic data required for connectivity and troubleshooting.

C. Account & Interaction Data

• User Account: Email address or phone number used for App registration, region, and timezone.

• App Interactions: Records of settings changes (e.g., sensitivity adjustment) and operation logs (e.g., unlocking a connected lock).

3. Where is Data Stored? (Data Location)

• Cloud Data: For users in the European Economic Area (EEA), cloud-processed data is stored in the AWS Data Center in Frankfurt, Germany, ensuring strict compliance with GDPR.

• Local Data: Data on the MicroSD card (if used) remains physically on the device unless extracted by the user.

4. Data Security Measures

We utilize industry-standard security measures provided by the Tuya IoT Platform:

• Transmission: All data is transmitted using TLS 1.2 (Transport Layer Security) protocol with mutual authentication.

• Encryption: Sensitive cloud data and passwords are encrypted using AES-128 or higher standard encryption keys.

• Access Control: Strict isolation ensures only authorized users (you) can access your video feeds.

5. How to Access Your Data (Your Rights)

Under Article 3 and 4 of the Data Act, you have the right to access data generated by your use of the product.

A. Real-time & Cloud Access

• You can view live video, historical cloud recordings (if subscribed), and device status directly through the [Tuya Smart / Smart Life App].

• You can download video clips and snapshots to your mobile phone’s local gallery via the App.

B. Local SD Card Access (Important)

• Via App: You can remotely playback video history stored on the SD card through the App interface as long as the device is online.

• Physical Retrieval: You can remove the SD card and read the files on a PC using a standard card reader.

• Note: Since SD card data is stored locally on the device, if the device is stolen, damaged, or reset, this data may be permanently lost unless previously backed up.

C. Data Portability (Export)

• To obtain a machine-readable copy of your personal data and logs, please navigate to [Me > Settings > Privacy Management > Export Personal Data] in the App. The system will generate a report and send it to your email (typically within 7-15 days).

6. Data Sharing with Third Parties

We do not share your data with third parties unless:

1. You request it: For example, linking your account to Google Assistant or Amazon Alexa for voice control features.

2. Essential Processing: Tuya Smart acts as a sub-processor to provide essential cloud storage and notification services.

7. Data Retention Policy

• Cloud Video: Retained according to your subscription plan (e.g., 7 days or 30 days), after which it is automatically overwritten/deleted.

• SD Card: Data is recorded in a loop; the oldest files are automatically overwritten when the card is full.

• Account Deletion: If you delete your account via the App, all associated personal data in the cloud will be erased in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
